Membrane Filters
Membrane filters separate at the surface of a thin polymeric or ceramic film with a defined pore size, so they retain particles, bacteria or dissolved molecules by size exclusion rather than by depth capture. Microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis each work at a finer cut-off, and are supplied as flat sheet, spiral wound, hollow fibre or tubular modules for water treatment, dairy, biotechnology and pharmaceutical processing.
