Liquid storage tanks hold raw materials, intermediates and finished product between process steps, and buffer the plant against interruptions in supply or demand. Vertical, horizontal, atmospheric and pressurised designs are built in carbon and stainless steel, GRP, polyethylene or lined steel, sized and specified for the density, temperature, corrosivity and flammability of the contents and for the applicable design code.
