Variable Area Flow Meters

Variable Area Flow Meters

Variable Area Flow Meters are meters that measure fluid flow by allowing the cross sectional area of the device to vary in response to the flow, causing some measurable effect that indicates the rate. Rotameters are an example ofVariable Area Flow Meters, where a weighted “float” rises in a tapered tube as the flow rate increases; the float stops rising when area between float and tube is large enough that the weight of the float is balanced by the drag of fluid flow. Variable Area Flow Meters are a cost effective solution for almost all applications involving the measurement of industrial process liquids, gases or steam. Variable Area Flow Meters are an ideal solution for high purity or corrosive liquid applications, gas and liquid applications, remediation.
