The countdown to Ecomondo 2024 has started. The international trade fair, organised by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) and dedicated to the green and circular economy, will be held at the Rimini Expo Centre from 5 to 8 November.

Now in its 27th edition, Ecomondo confirms its position as the leading international event in Europe and the Mediterranean for technologies, services, and industrial solutions for the green and circular economy, with more than 1,600 exhibiting brands and buyers expected from over 100 countries. The exhibition serves as a fundamental hub for information exchange, collaboration, and co-design on the European Green Deal policies, and will provide a status update on the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) projects.

A total of 221 seminars, conferences, and workshops, including 25 international sessions, will focus on circular economy, water resource management, environmental regeneration, and climate change monitoring. The exhibition space has been expanded for 2024, with the addition of two new pavilions, bringing the total exhibition area to 166,000 square metres.

The rich and comprehensive programme is curated by the Scientific Technical Committee (STC), chaired by Fabio Fava, Professor of Industrial and Environmental Biotechnology at the University of Bologna, and consists of a panel of over 80 experts, including scientists, technicians, representatives from national and international institutions, industry associations, consortia, agencies, and trade federations.

The key themes of the 27th edition will range from resource efficiency and circular economy strategies to new sustainability approaches for textiles, WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), plastics, paper and cardboard, automotive, and construction industries. Other topics include regenerative economy, recycling, ecosystem restoration, sustainable management of land and water systems, sustainable use of agri-food and agroforestry resources, and the potential of the Blue Economy.

Additionally, on 5 and 6 November, Ecomondo will host the 13th edition of the States General of the Green Economy. Promoted by the National Council of the Green Economy in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (MASE) and the European Commission, this event is organised by the Sustainable Development Foundation, chaired by Edo Ronchi, and represents a key moment for strategic dialogue with national and international stakeholders on Italy’s transition to a green economy.
