The largest of Greece’s power plants, located near Agios Dimitrios, in Kozani, situated between the towns of Kozani and Ellispontos village, is the district’s main heating system.
The plant burns lignite extracted through opencast mining, a process undertaken at the Lignite Center of Western Macedonia, which is located in the Ptolemais-Amynteo region, the main coal mining area of Greece.
Damper Technology Ltd (DTL) have been contracted to design and manufacture the complete supply of dampers, forming an integral part of the refurbishment works taking place on 4 of the Power Plant’s Flue Gas Heat Recovery System units.
The diversity of damper designs DTL are providing on this project highlights our truly flexible approach to design and supply, including circular and rectangular frame butterfly and multilouvre types, with bolted flange connections or welded into the duct, in a range of carbon steel and pressure vessel materials, supplied either bareshaft, with manual gearbox or electric actuation.
Across three orders DTL will supply in excess of 300 damper units in varying sizes and functionality. For Unit I & II DTL will supply 188 dampers including actuators and for Unit III & IV DTL will supply 128 dampers bare shaft.
