- Under the umbrella of IFATAs the environmental industry event held in China under the umbrella of IFAT, IE expo, held annually in Shanghai, has been deeply rooted in China’s environmental protection industry for 26 years and has grown into the world’s second-largest environmental exhibition after IFAT.

IE expo originated from the Shanghai International Environmental Protection and Water Exhibition (EPTEE), founded in 2000, and IFAT CHINA, which entered China in 2004. (The parent exhibition, IFAT, was founded in Munich in 1966 and is one of the world’s largest and most influential environmental exhibitions.) In 2010, the two major exhibitions merged and became “IE expo”.
It is a large-scale environmental exhibition in Asia that integrates business negotiations, technical exchanges, market development, brand marketing, trend releases, and international cooperation. Meanwhile, IE expo expanded to South China in 2015 and West China in 2019, forming a spatial layout of three exhibitions in three locations (Shanghai, Chengdu, and Guangzhou/Shenzhen) every year.
