Callisons Flavor is a company from the USA with over 100 years of experience in manufacturing mint oil as an additive flavour for the food and cosmetic sectors.
Their main factory is located in the city of Los Angeles. However, they use different varieties of mint when manufacturing their products, sourced from different locations around the world, such as India.
India produces a large quantity of unrefined mint oil, so the company proposed to commence manufacturing in Pune, with a new facility capable of cold blending different types of mint oils.
3. The INOXPA solution
Callisons Flavour needed a supplier that could provide a technical and professional solution that covered every phase of the project: design, equipment manufacture, supply and installation, right through to implementation.
INOXPA developed a tailor-made comprehensive project, technically compliant design and very specialised professional equipment.
4. Characteristics of the installation
This cold blending project involved the installation of agitators, pumps, pneumatically operated butterfly valves, sampling valves, manholes, and other necessary flow components.
The installation consisted of AISI 304 stainless steel vessels (2 x 1,100L, 3 x 5,500L, and 1 x 16,000L) with INOXPA agitators and HYGINOX SE-28 centrifugal pumps, for pumping the mint oil for each tank. All vessels were connected through flow divert panel and valves to the filling machine, controlled by a semi-automatic system with integrated PLC.
5. Strong points
The project has two main notable features:
- Air purging type CIP with special liquid spraying through piping (without water).
- The 9 ” touchscreen, digital input / output, analogue input settings, cycle selection, and alert diagnostics.
