THE PROBLEM
Nestled close to Halifax, West Yorkshire, is a water treatment facility that provides drinking water to those in and around the picturesque Calderdale area. In order to continue with an efficient supply of water, the treatment plant needed an overhaul. The works required specialist high-performance waterworks valves that worked alongside their existing set up to maximise performance.
THE SOLUTION
Cheshire based T-T Flow were engaged to support the overhaul and supply DN700 high-performance double-eccentric butterfly valves with intelligent actuators. The double-eccentric design principle of the valves offsets the geometry of the stem axis in two planes, relative to the body. This results in reduced seat friction and consequently lower operating torques.
T-T Pump’s butterfly valves are manufactured in accordance with EN593 to ensure specific requirements and standards are met. Each valve features an epoxy coated ductile iron body, precision machined corrosion resistant stainless steel (grade 1.4404 / SS316L) weld overlay seat and EPDM seals for reliable sealing. They’ve also passed hydraulic testing in accordance to EN1074 / EN12266. Each valve had a close-coupled electric actuator offering efficient and accurate disc positioning for flow control duties.
The valves were successfully installed and continue to support the efficient supply of potable water to the local area.
