The demand for green jobs is steadily rising, with nearly 4 million new roles projected over the next five years in Italy, according to data from the Excelsior information system by Unioncamere and ANPAL. In the Innovation District and Start-Up & Scale-Up area, 19 start-ups – selected from 144 applicants, including international ones – will present cutting-edge solutions across key sectors of the green economy, from waste management and waste valorization to circular bioeconomy, renewable energy, and sustainable agriculture.
Among these emerging ventures, highlights include zero-emission waste treatment plants, bio-based packaging solutions, advanced water purification technologies, and innovative systems for sustainable bioarchitecture. These start-ups are setting new sustainability benchmarks, offering targeted solutions to today’s most pressing environmental challenges. The Lorenzo Cagnoni Award for Green Innovation will recognize the three most innovative projects, celebrating excellence from both Italy and abroad.
