A Sustainable Construction Project

To avoid paving over additional land, Endress+Hauser demolished an existing building. In the process, 96 percent of the total 1,405 tons of material was reused or recycled. Trees on the site were preserved or replanted.

Further, the new facility meets the requirements of France’s RE2020 environmental regulation for new buildings. It will consume about 70 percent less energy than the previous headquarters in Huningue, thanks to geothermal energy, photovoltaic installations, green roofs, and energy-efficient heating and cooling systems. Endress+Hauser’s long-standing ties to Alsace also played an important role in the project’s implementation, with 95 percent of the companies involved coming from the region.
