The new construction is a nearly 35,000 square foot extension of the current building at 703 Amron Avenue.
Founded in Waukesha, Wisconsin, in 1946, Waukesha Bearings has been a proud part of the Antigo community for the last 45 years. The bearings manufactured in Antigo deliver long life and reliable performance for turbomachinery across the world’s oil & gas, power generation, marine and industrial markets. The additional manufacturing space will accommodate current production for marine bearing systems as well as new marine projects awarded to the company by General Dynamics Electric Boat of Groton, Connecticut. The Waukesha Bearings partnership with Electric Boat and the U.S. Navy goes back more than 50 years and includes bearing systems for both the surface fleet and submarines.
“Waukesha Bearings made its name with high-quality bearing solutions. Our system knowledge, custom engineering, and precision manufacturing make us a trusted supplier for mission-critical projects,” said John Sullivan, plant manager for the Antigo facility. “Our team here in Antigo takes great pride in the product we produce, and we are thrilled to be expanding our capacity.”
Once the expansion is complete, the Antigo facility will have nearly 100,000 square feet of space. A groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion will be held Thursday, August 8 at 10 am. Work is expected to be completed by January 2020.
The Antigo manufacturing facility is supported by engineers in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and Pawcatuck, Connecticut. To serve its global customer base, Waukesha Bearings also has facilities in the United Kingdom, China and Mexico.
