Sciad Communications / Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions (WMFTS), a leader in peristaltic pumps and associated fluid path technologies, will showcase its product range for chemical metering and dosing applications at the Water Equipment Show (WES) at the Telford International Centre in Telford, UK, on 15th May.

This is an opportunity for WES attendees to learn how WMFTS peristaltic pumps can contribute to a more sustainable and efficient water and wastewater treatment process.  Located at Stand F109-110, WMFTS will demonstrate its Qdos™ H-FLO chemical metering and dosing pump, the latest addition to the Qdos® range which is designed specifically for higher flow rates up to 600 L/hr with pressure capability up to 7 bar (102 psi). Qdos H-FLO delivers the same outstanding accuracy and reliability as other Qdos pumps and is compatible with a variety of pumpheads and a range of different tube materials to ensure chemical compatibility with the process fluid.

The Qdos range consists of six pumps—20, 30, 60, 120, CWT and HFLO—to fulfil your chemical metering and dosing requirements.

Chemical dosing systems with Qdos peristaltic pumps are used at major water and wastewater treatment plants around the UK. The simplicity and easy installation of the Qdos, along with their proven operational benefits, make Qdos a preferred chemical dosing solution for both contractors and water authorities. Qdos metering and dosing pumps offer a reliable, high-performance alternative to diaphragm pumps: their patented ReNu pumphead can be quickly dismantled and replaced without tools and requires no maintenance or specialist training for operators.

Other products on the stand will include the Bredel APEX hose pump, which is ideal for chemically aggressive or abrasive applications up to 8 bar. The high flow of the APEX pump means less wear on the precision machined hose element resulting in longer service intervals. Maintenance consists of a simple hose change which can be performed in place, taking minutes.

Dale Kavanagh, Sales Team Leader, Industrial and Environmental Sectors at WMFTS UK, said: “Our diverse range of peristaltic pumps, including the Qdos H-FLO and Qdos CWT pumps, have been developed for a range of challenging applications from versatile and accurate chemical dosing, to handling abrasive sludge and slurries.

“The Qdos range is now compliant with a recent revision of Water Industry Mechanical and Electrical Specification (WIMES) guidance.

“We look forward to engaging with attendees to discuss how WMFTS can optimise their processes and meet their fluid management needs to deliver cost savings, lower maintenance and sustainability benefits.”

On display at the WMFTS stand will be:

  • Qdos chemical metering and dosing pumps, with the ReNu cartridge pumphead at the core of its operation, meters reagents in thousands of mining installations worldwide. Qdos pumps provide accurate, repeatable and contained reagent dosing, pH control and slurry transfer between flotation and milling stages. Qdos H-FLO is designed specifically for higher flow rates up to 600 L/hr and pressure capability up to 7 bar. Like the rest of the Qdos range, Qdos H-FLO cuts costs through higher precision chemical metering, with an accuracy of ±1% and repeatability of ±0.5% in dosing.
  • Bredel hose pumps handle abrasive sludge, paste, and slurries at 100% volumetric accuracy. The heavy-duty peristaltic hose pumps are virtually maintenance-free as there are no impellers, liners or mechanical seals to replace, no check valves to clog, and no rotors or stators to wear out. Flow rates up to 108 cubic metres/hr at 16 bar can be achieved with Bredel which can transfer up to 80% solids in suspension.
  • Watson-Marlow cased pumps (500, 600, 700 series) deliver unrivalled accuracy with a simple-to-use HMI which requires minimal key presses during operation. Fluid is fully contained within the tube, providing complete isolation of the pump.
