Ruthman’s family of industrial pumps, hydraulic relief valves, and machine tools are designed to meet any pumping challenge. Applications range from wastewater, agriculture, heavy solids, and molten metals, to automotive paint stations, heavy drilling, and mining.
Ruthman began in 1912 as the ‘Ruthman Machinery Company.’ Based in Cincinnati, the company serviced the steamboats that traveled the Ohio River.
In April of 1924, Alois Ruthman conceived the first ‘seal less’ centrifugal pump. “We first considered naming the pump ‘Geyser,’ however the same day we decided to call it ‘Gusher’ as this sounded more forceful,” stated Alois Ruthman, giving birth to the trade name Gusher Pumps. Ruthman is 100% family owned.
Today, Ruthman owns seventeen production and service facilities in eight states and four countries. Our customer promise of ‘Engineering Pump Solutions,’ is the center of our company culture.
