Key points

The RF flexible impeller pump can pump fluids of both low and high viscosity. Due to its design, this positive displacement pump has a high suction capacity, making it a versatile solution for a wide range of applications.

The INOXPA RF flexible impeller pump can pump fluids of both low and high viscosity. Due to its design, this positive displacement pump has a high suction capacity, making it a versatile solution for a wide range of applications.

How Does It Work?

The pump operates by means of an eccentric housing containing a rubber impeller. This impeller is designed to fit the internal geometry of the pump casing. As it rotates, the flexible blades of the impeller expand as they pass through the widest part of the casing, causing an increase in volume that creates a vacuum and facilitates the suction of liquid into the pump. As they continue their journey towards the narrowest section, these blades are progressively compressed, reducing the volume between them and forcing the fluid towards the pump outlet.

Reversible Flow Without Any Loss of Efficiency

One of the key advantages of this type of pump is its ability to instantly switch the flow direction without any loss of efficiency by reversing the direction of rotation of the motor. This is particularly useful in operations such as product return or pipeline draining, enhancing overall operational flexibility.

The Changes Introduced in the New Generation

These are the changes introduced in this new generation of the pump:

  • Stainless Steel LanternLantern made of stainless steel instead of painted iron improves resistance to corrosive environments and eliminates the need for paint altogether.
  • New NEMA Close-Coupled VersionIntroduction of a new NEMA close-coupled version (RFN pump) makes it possible to fit NEMA motors, thereby expanding the possibilities for integration across various markets.
  • Standard Mechanical Seal in C/SiC/FPMStandard mechanical seal in C/SiC/FPM, replacing C/Cer/NBR, offers a better friction coefficient and therefore greater durability.
  • Standard O-ring in FPMStandard O-ring in FPM, rather than NBR, provides better chemical compatibility.
  • Food-Grade Certificates as StandardMechanical seals, gaskets and impellers come with EC 1935/2004 and FDA food-grade certificates as standard.

In Line With Current Industry Standards
