Insufficient water flow, clogging, erosion and excessive maintenance are just a few of common filtration problems. Lubricating water is the life blood of a turbine bearing or shaft sealing system, so understanding the available technologies in the marketplace is critical to selecting the best solution for each application. This webinar will provide an overview of the technical concepts behind different filtration technologies, including the similarities and differences in maintenance, efficiency, and the cost associated with each.
Learn how to optimize the overall turbine water supply system, including different filtration stages, pressure and flow monitoring and regulation, as well as built in redundancy in case of grid power loss. Different bearing and shaft materials will all have specific manufacturer requirements for water filtration levels which can have a significant effect on the complexity of the implemented solution. In some cases, the filtration level required may be almost unachievable, so looking at bearing and seal material selection may provide an alternate path to a reliable and trouble-free system.
