Challenge: Pressure drop with increasing flowrate
With many conventional pressure regulators, the outlet pressure drops as soon as the flowrate increases. This is particularly relevant in industrial applications where several machines or workstations require gas intermittently. If several require the gas supply system at the same time, the available pressure drops – production processes are not optimally supplied and quality can be impaired. WITT dome pressure regulators prevent this effect – and now offer even greater pressure stability thanks to their new design.
Solution: optimised control pressure regulation for even better performance – can also be retrofitted
Thanks to the design revision of the integrated pilot pressure regulator, the dome pressure regulator keeps the outlet pressure stable even under dynamic operating conditions. For users, this means planning reliability in the process: gas pressure drops and fluctuations due to load peaks are avoided, even when consumers are switched on or off. With constant working pressure, machines and systems can operate at all times under the intended operating conditions – for optimum working results. What’s also special: existing WITT dome pressure regulators users can benefit from this optimisation, via retrofit of the new pilot gas regulator.
WITT dome pressure regulators – precise control at the highest level
Dome pressure regulators do not use a spring, but rather the pressure of a control gas. This design enables a particularly sensitive and rapid response to pressure changes. WITT has consistently optimised this already superior technology over many years. The result: the optimised control characteristics ensure an almost horizontal pressure curve across the entire flowrate range. The set pressure remains constant, even with fluctuating flowrates, temperatures or inlet pressure fluctuations and even down to a pressure difference of only 1 bar. Users benefit from consistently stable operating conditions – without the need for ongoing adjustments.
SMART option: transparency and networking
WITT dome pressure regulators are also available in a SMART version. This combines the mechanical precision of the regulators with modern sensor technology and electronics. The systems record and transmit key parameters such as pressure, temperature and flow, enabling continuous monitoring. This makes the regulators an integral part of modern, networked production environments – offering added safety, efficiency and predictive maintenance planning.
Extensive product range for the most demanding requirements
WITT offers dome pressure regulators made of brass or stainless steel for almost all industrial gases such as oxygen, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen, carbon dioxide and mixed gases. They are available individually or as a fully assembled set including pilot pressure regulator, pressure gauges and connections. The sets are delivered fully assembled and tested – ready to use.
The regulators can be used for inlet pressures up to 40 barg and offer control ranges from 0.5 to 30 barg with maximum flow rates up to 15,000 Nm³/h for N2 and Kv values up to 30. In addition, special high-pressure models are designed for a maximum operating pressure of 300 barg and working pressures from 0.5 to 60 barg. Threaded and flanged connections from G 3/4″ to G 3″ / DN100 – DIN or ANSI – are available.
WITT dome pressure regulators comply with relevant standards and norms, are CE marked (except 737) and fulfil the Pressure Equipment Directive PED 2014/68/EU, and EIGA/CGA standards. An ATEX 2014/34/EU manufacturer’s declaration is also available on request.
