With the rapid growth of Small Scale LNG (SSLNG) and global LNG markets, Habonim has recognized the benefits of floating ball valve technology, including higher flow rates, simpler automation, greater durability, and cost-effectiveness.
Traditionally, Cryogenic Floating Ball Valves were Unidirectional due to their inner-ball pressure relief hole. However, Habonim’s Patented Bidirectional Cryogenic Floating Ball Valves have changed that. These valves allow a single pipeline to handle both loading and offloading, eliminating redundancy and significantly reducing installation costs and time.
The advantages of Bidirectional Cryogenic Floating Ball Valves include:
Cost Savings:
- Ball Valves have much better flow rates than Globe Valves, which have been traditionally used in Bidirectional Cryogenic piping. With higher flow, the piping size can be reduced without losing flow and efficiency.
- Eliminate the need for parallel piping and valves by using traditional Unidirectional ball valves.
- Automation & Control of a quarter-turn ball valve is simpler and much cheaper than that of vertical valves (Globe, Needle…).
Using Habonim CompAct Actuation technology:
- Space Optimization: A more compact and lighter system.
- Better Response Time: twice as fast Actuation and Emergency Shutdown capability.
- Energy and CO₂ Reduction: About half the compressed air is required for the valve control, reduced emissions, and cost savings.
With the Habonim legacy, a reliable Total HermetiX Integrity Package, valve maintenance is minimized, and system reliability is significantly improved.
