Regular measurements with mobile measuring devices, e.g. Bourdon tube pressure gauges, are therefore standard in many operations.
Potential for improvement
However, these measurements are time-consuming, they cannot be recorded digitally, and they do not make short-term pressure peaks visible. For this reason, operators and maintenance personnel of hydraulic systems have been looking for compact and robust universal measuring devices with recording and evaluation capabilities.
Goal: Preventive maintenance

Stauff is now presenting such a device: The PPC-Pad-Plus enables all relevant values to be checked with one single compact diagnostic device. In addition to hydraulic parameters, electrical parameters are also recorded – with extremely short sampling rates and on up to one hundred measuring channels. All values are recorded and can be compared over time.
The result from the user’s point of view: transparency and comprehensive information about the condition of the hydraulic system lead to higher availability and, in the event of malfunctions, to very fast fault diagnosis.
Field tests prove the practical benefits
Initial field tests, performed by several hydraulic service companies, show the benefits: The PPC-Pad-Plus is a real “all-rounder” for operational maintenance. Thanks to its robust design, ease of operation and muti-functional useability, it can be employed as a universal maintenance tool in stationary and mobile hydraulics.
