Flotronic Pumps is the only British-owned specialist manufacturer of air operated diaphragm pumps. Founded in 1981 and based in Bolney, West Sussex, Flotronic is famous for its development of a unique ‘One Nut’ pump design, which allows swift disassembly without disconnecting the pump from the process pipework.
Flotronic’s concentration on a specific type of pump has seen the use of air operated diaphragm pumps change dramatically. Traditionally AODP were employed in ‘dirty’ jobs such as waste water transfer, emptying sumps and in bund-wall applications. The Flotronic “One Nut” pumps are now used in critical process applications such as pumping aggressive chemicals, transferring foodstuffs and providing constant liquid feeds. Today, Flotronic pumps are manufactured to be used for thin or viscous liquids, with or without solids and for aggressive chemicals, adhesives, cosmetics, drinks, dyes, foodstuff paints, pharmaceuticals, solvents. Products as diverse as acids, hand cream, mayonnaise and yoghurt can be transferred. The pumps are exported across the globe through a network of strategically placed distributors.
The hygienic and sanitary industries now demand that process equipment can be fully cleaned and drained in position. The Flotronic’ “One Nut” pump is unique in that it can be fully cleaned in place using up to 7 Bar pressure produced by an external CIP pump without the need to bypass the pump. The “One Nut” pump can also be fully drained of CIP liquids without manual intervention.
We understand that customers often need to move very aggressive materials, often within hazardous areas. At Flotronic we have developed systems to ensure the safety of staff and equipment under those conditions including offering ATEX accreditation across our range.
We acknowledge that every customer has different requirements. At Flotronic we have the engineering staff able to come up with bespoke solutions backed up by on site production staff to make it happen.
