Severn Group Announces Acquisition of ValvTechnologies
13 Dec 2021  |
Severn Group, the global family of specialist high-end valve engineering and manufacturing companies, which includes Severn and LB Bentley, has acquired US-headquartered ValvTechnologies, a leader in the design and manufacture of metal-seated, zero-leakage isolation valve solutions for demanding applications.

TheĀ deal, which follows theĀ strategic partnershipĀ announcedĀ in June ofĀ this year,Ā representsĀ aĀ stepĀ towardĀ Severn Group’sĀ visionĀ to becomeĀ the leadingĀ globalĀ severe service valve specialistĀ in theĀ energy and industrialĀ sectors. ValvTechnologies willĀ retain its operationalĀ independence butĀ will benefit from a broaderĀ pool of expertise and resourcesĀ as part of theĀ widerĀ Group,Ā alongsideĀ SevernĀ andĀ LB Bentley.Ā Ā

ValvTechnologies, Severn, and LB BentleyĀ represent an exceptionalĀ strategic fit.Ā ForĀ example,Ā where SevernĀ excelsĀ in upstream oil and gas,Ā and LB Bentley providesĀ subsea specialisms,Ā ValvTechnologiesĀ majors in mining and power.Ā ForĀ Severn Group, this acquisition furthers a diversification strategy that will see the family of businesses increase its international presence, widen the industries served, expand its product offering and benefit from a combined approach to delivering on-site service support capabilities across all markets.Ā

As part of this transition,Ā Mr.Ā Kevin Hunt,Ā has taken the decision toĀ step down as President of ValvTechnologies.Ā HeĀ will be handing over his day-to-day responsibilities to the existing leadership team, withĀ Chad Bowers, previouslyĀ Director of ManufacturingĀ at ValvTechnologies, taking the role of President.Ā

Perttu Louhiluoto, CEO of Severn Group, comments: ā€œI would firstly like to thank Mr. Hunt for his 30+ years of dedication to ValvTechnologies, having led the development of industry-leading products and playing an instrumental role in growing the business into the successful enterprise it is today. I have great confidence in the existing ValvTechnologies executive management team, and I am delighted to welcome Chad Bowers as he takes on the role of President.

ā€œOurĀ goalĀ is to build an offering thatĀ better servesĀ global demand for critical-application valvesĀ and aftermarket servicesĀ in the energyĀ andĀ industrial sectors.Ā We areĀ incrediblyĀ confidentĀ thatĀ this deal willĀ accelerateĀ the growth ofĀ ValvTechnologiesĀ andĀ theĀ existingĀ SevernĀ GroupĀ companies,Ā whileĀ significantly elevatingĀ our offering toĀ current and prospective customers.Ā WithĀ extended capabilitiesĀ includingĀ enhancedĀ global reach, product diversity, and specialistĀ solutions,Ā we willĀ provideĀ customers withĀ unrivaledĀ supportĀ forĀ theĀ operational and assurance needsĀ of their plants.ā€Ā

Chad Bowers,Ā PresidentĀ at ValvTechnologies,Ā adds: ā€œBy joining Severn Group, we markĀ anĀ incrediblyĀ exciting step in ValvTechnologies’ evolution.Ā OurĀ collective heritageĀ in delivering engineering solutions for demanding applicationsĀ will bring a strengthened offeringĀ to the market at a critical time for customers. Traditional core imperatives of safe operations and minimum downtime are increasingly coupled with a commitment to sustainability, andĀ meetingĀ these demandsĀ requiresĀ expert knowledge ofĀ assetĀ life-cycleĀ and process conditions. InĀ joiningĀ Severn Group, this is exactly what we deliver – intimate knowledge of day-to-day operations, combined with a relentless commitment to innovatingĀ severe serviceĀ valve solutions for the future.ā€Ā

This deal has been funded by Bluewater, the specialist international private equity firm. Bluewater originally invested in Severn Group in 2019.
