ValvTechnologies, Inc. Names Joseph Miller as Power Industry Director

ValvTechnologies, Inc., the global leader in the design and manufacturing of zero-leakage severe service isolation valve solutions, today announced the appointment of Joseph "Joe" Miller as Industry Director for the company’s fossil power division.

Based in Denver, Colorado, Joe will have global leadership responsibility for ValvTechnologies’ power industry group, with a focus on business growth and customer performance in the severe service marketplace.

For the last 15 years, Miller has been President of The Energy Corporation, a consulting firm that helps clients engineer, build, and bring on-line large coal and gas-fired power plants throughout North and South America. Previously, he served as Vice President of Engineering for Calpine Corporation where he was an integral part of the company’s massive gas-fired combined cycle construction program. With more than 35 years’ experience in the power industry, Miller has worked on geothermal, solar, hydroelectric, wood-fired, gas-fired, and coal-fired power plants, helping bring onto the grid over 30,000 megawatts of power generation worldwide.

“Joe has an unparalleled experience base and reputation within the industry and has been a great friend and client of ValvTechnologies for over 25 years,” said ValvTechnologies’ President Kevin Hunt. “I am excited that he is joining our executive team to lead this critical segment of our global business.” 

Miller holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is a registered Professional Engineer.
