GF’s thermoplastic Butterfly Valve 565 range has established itself as a flexible solution for all water and water treatment applications thanks to Lug-Style and Wafer-Style configurations and a dimension range from DN50 to DN300. It features corrosion-free materials and high temperature and pressure-resistance, making it a lightweight and long-lasting alternative to metal valves. The new Butterfly Valve 565 Big builds on this formula by adding larger dimensions that are particularly suitable for applications like desalination and water distribution.
In terms of construction, the 565 Big shares a number of features with the rest of the range. The valve housing is made of glass fiber reinforced polypropylene, while the disc is made of metal-reinforced polyethylene. As a result, it is up to 20% lighter than metal alternatives. Despite its lightweight construction and short installation length, a PN10 pressure rating makes the 565 Big the strongest thermoplastic butterfly valve with a short installation length on the market.
For a streamlined installation process and more flexibility for customers, GF offers customized valve actuation through its network of Valve Automation Centers. Customers benefit from customized service solutions and the assembly of complete solutions according to their requirements – including third party components. In order to meet current and future operational demands, the 565 Big comes with a standard interface that supports the simple automation and digitalization of installations with optional modules. These include various actuators as well as the Double-Sensor Click-in with LED position feedback, a unique solution on the market that integrates directly into the housing.
Jochen Hamburger, Head of Product Management Valves at GF, comments on the launch: “The 565 is built for the future thanks to corrosion-free materials and digital interfaces that ensure a long-lasting, reliable, and cost-effective operation. With the introduction of the 565 Big we are extending the application scope with the toughest plastic Butterfly Valves on the market. Water distribution and desalination applications will particularly benefit from its durability and high pressure rating while maintaining a short installation length.”
The new addition to GF’s Butterfly Valve line-up was launched in the dimensions DN350 and DN400. The dimensions DN450 to DN600 will follow in the near future.
