Production is due to start in January 2020 and the new offices are scheduled to open in the first quarter of next year.
Together with the current factory in Brzeg, production capacity in Poland is being significantly upped. The arrival of a new production unit gives Gpi the opportunity to manufacture large volume storage tanks in Poland, in addition to the Lopik and Groot-Ammers production facilities in the Netherlands. This enables construction of tanks of up to 400 m3, up to 25 metres in height and 4.2 metres in diameter, the maximum width for road transport. Large volume storage tanks can also be built on location with the customer.
On top of this additional construction potential, this also brings about significant improvements in efficiency. Faster lead times, better quality and enhanced efficiency can now be achieved due to more effective crane operations and state-of-the-art equipment. CEO Fred Boere: “Gpi aims to be the most innovative tank construction company in Europe.”
At the moment, Gpi employs around 40 employees in Poland. Gpi Tanks Poland is a fully independent company with its own sales, engineering and production facilities, but operates to the same standards as in the Netherlands. With construction of the new facilities, the team will grow by between around 20 to 30 employees. In addition to tank constructors and welders, other engineers will be needed to ensure that planned efficiencies can be achieved in the production process.
Poland is currently the biggest market for Gpi Tanks Poland. However, with the opening of the new production plant and offices, Gpi aims to expand its share of the business in neighbouring countries, such as the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany.
