Capacitance Point Level Detection in Liquid Naphthalene
Capacitance point level detection in liquid naphthalene A point level measurement to avoid overfilling or emptying is required in almost all process containers today. In the chemical industry in particular, sensors are usually exposed to aggressive, adhesive or caustic materials. The measurement technology has to deal with high temperatures, varying DK values and viscosity quickly and reliably. In order to meet these conditions in practice with a clever solution, system planners are increasingly using the capacitive rod probes. The use of the capacitive RFnivo® in liquid naphthalene in a plant in India is explained in more detail below.

Key Considerations for MFCs in Harsh and Hazardous Chem and Petrochem Locations
In chemical plants and petrochemical refineries, safety procedures and protocols protect both people and production systems from explosions and other hazards. Equipment under these protocols includes mass flow controllers (MFCs), which are used to precisely measure and control the flow of gasses in critical processes.
Given the rugged and hazardous conditions in these facilities, you need to determine how MFCs are designed in order to specifically meet (or exceed) applicable standards and classification approvals. Factors to consider include how well it can withstand environmental conditions and how much wear and tear it can take while still retaining precise, stable flow control over its life cycle.
